There are over 100 species of sharks and rays that are endemic to Australia and many of them live so deep beneath the waves that we know very little about them. Sadly, some of these are at risk of extinction ...
So, along with with the Australian Marine Conservation Society and the Humane Society International Australia, we're calling on the children of Australia to help with the power of their imagination.
Create an artistic masterpiece based just on the description of one of 10 uniquely Australian sharks or rays and it could end up in the Australian Museum! The most imaginative pieces will become the inspiration for 10 of Australia’s most prominent artists, including Ken, to create their own artwork.
Whether it’s pencil, paint or paper mache, let’s save our sharks and rays today. Competition closes 29 February 2024 with the exhibition running from 31 August 2024.
