Ken’s hand-painted suit created in collaboration with Romance Was Born for their Done Zone collection is currently on display at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
As part of a new exhibition – Power Suits: The fit within the frame, the iconic piece is shown alongside his self-portrait Me, 1992, which is held in the Gallery’s permanent collection.
From rock legends to scientists, politicians to pop icons – the Power Suits: The Fit Within the Frame exhibition gathers more than 100 works celebrating significant Australians in their finest. Featuring artists from Judy Cassab and Max Dupain to Atong Atem, this collection exhibition traces the evolution of the suit from the 1930s to today, exploring how what we wear has always spoken volumes about who we are.
